    Republican Primary, May 5th

Hi. I am running for Sevier County Road Superintendent and I want to serve you and help our county prosper. I’m a native Sevier Countian and I love this community; its rivers, mountains, and people.  After 26+ years of serving you at the Tennessee Department of Transportation, I am looking forward to serving Sevier County in a new capacity.

We must have responsible growth that coincides with the infrastructure needs of our everyday citizens, developers, and thriving business community, while preserving who we are as a county for future generations.

I am asking YOU to Join Team Tracie today and for your Vote on May 5th in the Republican Primary!

    Family & Faith

Tracie grew up in Kodak and lived on Mount Road with her mom, dad, and her 3 brothers. Tracie attended Northview Primary, Northview Middle School, and Seymour High School. Her secondary education began at Carson Newman College and she graduated from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she received her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation.

Tracie and her family are members of Kodak Church. Tracie is wife to Bryan Widner and they have 1 son, Sawyer.

    Qualified & Ready to Serve

Tracie has served 26+ years with the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Her career started as a Graduate Transportation Assistant in February 1999 and in 2003 she took office as the Construction Unit Supervisor, serving primarily Sevier County.  As the Department made organization changes (Top To Bottom), her title changed and her workload and territory expanded to include projects in Knox County.  As Operations District Supervisor and most recently, Project Manager, Tracie has worked on a multitude of  bridge, roadway, unstable slope and infrastructure projects throughout our region. Throughout her career, she has supervised employees, maintained working relationships with stakeholders, administered contracts,  managed schedules and budgets.

Tracie doesn’t need on-the-job training, she is ready to lead on Day 1.

    Community Service

Tracie is a Scout Mom. She served as Den Leader and Cub Master while Sawyer was a Cub Scout with Pack 121 (Catlettsburg). Today as Sawyer is working on his Eagle Rank with Troop 119 (Sevierville) Tracie ensures her Senior Patrol Leader Life Scout is prepared and attentive to the Troop. And in November and December you’ll find Tracie along with other Scout parents helping at the Christmas Tree Lot, a fundraiser for Troop 119. Tracie is active in church and participates in many outreach programs at Kodak Church including VBS, Fall Festival, Operation Christmas Child, and the Methodist Women’s group.  She is an active member of the Spencer Clack Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, where she is currently the chapter leader. She is also the Committee Chair for DAR Service for Veterans. Through her efforts, she has been able to partner the Spencer Clack Chapter, DAR with The United Veterans Council of East Tennessee to bring Free Veterans Breakfasts to 4 Sevier County locations- Kodak, Sevierville, Seymour, and Wears Valley. Tracie has a heart for Veterans and has helped to coordinate placing thousands of wreaths at Shiloh Memorial Cemetery on National Wreaths Across America Day. She, along with her Scout, also participates yearly in Flag Placement Ceremonies at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
